Selecting drawer knobs and pulls

Have you ever reached for a drawer and been struck either by how well the knobs match the décor or by how poorly they do? We notice drawer handles because we use them. Anything we put our hands on registers with us visually and texturally, which is why it is so important that you select the perfect drawer knob for every piece of furniture in a newly designed room.

In a home office, you will likely want to keep your drawer pulls fairly simple, especially if you have an impressive office desk or bookshelf. These are the main pieces in the room, and you do not want to draw attention away from them with trivial details.

On the other hand, drawer handles in bedrooms can add a little extra fun. Kids drawer pulls in particular can be wacky and crazy. You can find plastic drawer pulls shaped like many cartoon characters, basic shapes (stars, squares, triangles, circles), animals or other common kids themes, such as spaceships, fire trucks, princesses and ballerinas. Molded knobs will likely be best for children's rooms, since they won't have any dangling pieces that can be broken off.
