Beds

Sweet dreams await

What's the centerpiece of your bedroom? Probably your bed – it's the most comfortable and most important feature of the whole room. Whether you slumber in a standard queen bed or a huge king-size, choosing the right bed is important when you're redecorating a bedroom .

Choosing a Bed

Before choosing a bed, consider size, first and foremost. A double bed is not going to give two adults a comfortable sleep unless they like being cozy, but a king bed is not going to fit in a small master bedroom, either. Make sure to measure the room and carefully plan where you're going to place your bed. The general rule is: buy the biggest bed that will fit in your room.

Mattresses are also important when choosing a bed. The mattress is the most important part of the bed, so make sure you pick one that is good quality. If you sleep with a partner, consider a mattress that will suit you both. There are many different kinds, from a memory foam mattress to a feather bed. Try several types before making your decision. Contemporary bedrooms include interestingly shaped metal beds, or they may even feature a platform bed. A loft bed is perfect for adding the illusion of height – a trademark of the contemporary style.

If you're into a more luxury feel, pile a large feather bed hi...
